A Little Political Insight -- the real picture behind appointing a new Supreme Court Justice

Justice Scalia died.  A great jurist.  A staunch conservative.  And now -- if Obama gets an appointment to replace him -- it would likely swing the court to the left giving the liberals a 5-4 majority vote.   For gun owners -- a beyond critical issue since the two most important pro-gun cases in U.S. history recently held (for the first time) that the Second Amendment was a personal right, and therefore all citizens are entitled to keep personal guns for self defense.  Plus, both decisions were by a 5-4 vote.   Don't think that couldn't reverse if a new court came in.  So -- do you honestly think the Republican majority would allow Obama to put in a replacement, and try to change the balance of power on the court?

Not gonna happen!  Not in a frickin'  hundred years!  Plus, no Congress is going to let a lame duck president in his last year appoint a Supreme Court vacancy, no matter who he or she is!  Whether it's the Dems or the Republicans or anyone else -- just isn't gonna happen!

So . . .  why all the rhetoric?   Why bother nominating someone?   What the hell is this all about?

It's all about the next election, and trying to create a non-issue as a major issue.  It's all about trying to embarrass the Republicans.  Obama knows he has zero chance for an appointment.  So does everyone else in Washington.  It's just frickin' politics.  It's just trying to create cannon fodder for the liberal media -- giving them more b.s. to talk about.  More b.s. to try feeding to us.  Trying to poison the upcoming election in favor of the Democratic liberals!  That's really all that it's really about.

And what about the nominee?

Who the hell would accept a nomination and all the total b.s. they will have to go through, and put up with -- knowing they stand zero chance for an appointment -- except a true political hack?  So, whoever Obama nominates -- you already know is a legal loser, and has no place on the Supreme Court.

That's the b.s. that's going on today.  That's what it's all about.   And, while it will fool some of the people out there -- it won't fool us!   Stand firm!  Stand tall!   If you hold your ground -- all of this shall pass.
