Carry in a bar

I received an email today from a Florida gun range that asked if I had ever indicated it was lawful to conceal carry in a bar with your CWL.  The reason for the question was that a certified firearms instructor had allegedly told the individual at the gun range this was the law, and I was the source for the quote.

I replied "no", subject to certain possible exceptions -- as 790.06(12) makes it very clear you cannot carry in any area that is primarily devoted to the service of alcohol.

The subsection prohibits carry in:
12. Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose;

Of course, there are places that serve alcohol which are primarily for food service, or other things, or areas in a bar where that may occur, and food service is the primary objective.  Those would be the exceptions.  There may even be some others.  But, that may be a very narrow line.  On the other hand,  an employee may carry in a bar per 790.25.   It's all made crystal clear in the 9th edition of my book on pages 68-69.
